About GMA SEVA

GMA SEVA (Service of Emergency Volunteer Assistance) is GMA's community support network, available to all member families across the United States. SEVA volunteers coordinate support for families during unexpected crises — particularly accidental or sudden deaths — navigating complex processes when families are at their most vulnerable.

Services Provided

Service	Description
Funeral Coordination (USA)	Guidance through funeral home selection, documentation, death certificates, and family coordination when a member passes away in the US.
Repatriation to India	Full coordination for returning remains to India — consulate documentation, embalming certificates, airline cargo, and family reception coordination.
Domestic Violence Support	Confidential referrals to resources, legal aid, shelters, and culturally-sensitive counselors. Available regardless of immigration status.
Medical Crisis Support	Community coordination for families facing serious illness — including cancer patient support, hospital navigation, and connecting with GMA's medical professional volunteers.
Community Crisis Support	Coordination of community support — meals, childcare, transportation, and practical help — when a family faces a sudden crisis.
Immigration Emergency	Urgent guidance and attorney referrals for families facing immigration-related crises.
