Gold = credential gate. Each turn: more skill → more pay → the next step.
  1. 1
Pre-licensing for a line of authority
Pick a line: Life, Health, Property, or Casualty. Course is short (8–40 hrs), low hundreds of dollars.
◆ GMA mentor + community leads
  2. 2
Pass the state exam → licensed
Pass your state's exam for that line; the state issues your producer license. Add lines with more exams.
  3. 3
    Get appointed by carrier(s)
Captive (one carrier — base + lower %) or independent (many carriers, higher %). Captive is the easier start.
  4. 4
    Sell policies → earn renewals · $60K
New-policy commission plus renewals every year the client stays.
  5. 5
    Add lines / go independent
    Carry both P&C and Life/Health and/or go independent for higher %. Top 10% >$135K.

The flywheel: every policy you sell keeps paying you renewals — so this year's sales become next year's baseline. Add lines and independence and the residual base compounds.
