Events & Hospitality Medium $10k–$30k

Video coming soon.

Cater and decorate weddings, festivals and cultural functions with authentic food and traditional decor.

Evaluation

Market: The community holds a constant stream of weddings, festivals, poojas, birthdays and cultural events, all needing food and decor that feel authentic. Demand is reliable and seasonal peaks are strong.

Competition: General caterers often miss regional dishes and traditions. A specialist who nails authentic Telugu cuisine and decor becomes the default choice by reputation.

Difficulty & cost: Medium — higher startup cost than a tiffin service because of equipment, staff and event logistics, and quality must be consistent under pressure.

Pros: Large per-event revenue, powerful word of mouth after every function, and natural upsells across food, decor, staffing and rentals.

How to implement

  1. Decide your scope — catering only, decor only, or both — and set clear per-guest and per-package pricing with a minimum booking size.
  2. Secure a commercial kitchen and the required food-safety permits and insurance, and line up reliable part-time staff you can call for events.
  3. Do your first event at a modest price for a community family, photograph everything, and build a portfolio and testimonials.
  4. Take bookings with a deposit, partner with venues, temples and event planners, and grow through referrals and a community classifieds listing.
