Technique explanation

Sometimes you're put on the spot with no prep. The rescue framework is PREP: Point (your main answer in one sentence), Reason (why), Example (one real example), Point (restate to wrap up). Because the structure is memorized, your brain is free to think about what to say. Two rules: take a breath before you speak (a 2-second pause reads as thoughtful), and be brief — make one point well, then stop.

Worked examples

🎤 Speaking homework: Write 5 random topics on slips. Draw one, pause 3 seconds, then speak 45–60 seconds using PREP out loud. Do all five; record the last.
