You can delete your GMA account and the personal data that comes with it. This applies to your account on gmaworld.org and in the GMA app — they are the same account.
Delete your account yourself (fastest)
If you can sign in, you can delete your account in a couple of taps — no email needed:
- Sign in at gmaworld.org or in the GMA app.
- Go to My GMA and choose Delete my account (or go straight to gmaworld.org/account/delete).
- Confirm with your password. Your account closes immediately and is permanently erased 14 days later.
During those 14 days you can undo it by emailing president@gmaworld.org before the erase date.
Can't sign in? Request deletion by email
If you have lost access to your account, ask us instead:
- Email president@gmaworld.org from the email address on your GMA account, with the subject “Delete my GMA account”. Include your Member ID if you have it.
- We check that the request comes from you.
- We delete your account and reply to confirm, within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and membership record
- Your matrimonial profile, its photographs and jathakam documents
- Your classifieds listings and your résumé
- Files you uploaded
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups. Deletion applies to the live site immediately. Copies inside existing backups expire automatically after 14 days (daily backups) or 56 days (weekly backups).
- Donation records. Donation amounts and dates are kept for our financial records, with your name, email and phone number removed.
- Administrative audit records. Kept as the record that an action was taken. They hold your Member ID, the action and the date — not your personal profile.
Leaving only one service
To remove only your matrimonial profile, listings or résumé and stay a GMA member, say so in your email, or manage it from within that section of the site.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy, sections 6 and 7.
